Calgary Bluesfest presents award winning guitarist and songwriter Tony D. One of Alberta's favourites, Tony has a long and impressive list of credentials, including at the helm of the Juno-winning MonkeyJunk and as sideman to the likes of Dutch Mason and Paul Reddick. Tony is known for his eclectic mix of old-school blues, fine instrumentals, and brilliant fretwork.

Tony has released seven albums under his own name, and five albums with MonkeyJunk, earning two Junos for Blues Album Of The Year, and collectively taken home 25 Maple Blues Awards. His latest album, Electric Delta, saw Tony nominated for the Canadian Blues Music Award's Guitarist of the Year.

He describes himself as “Lightnin’ Hopkins with an electric guitar.”
