Corbie Dorner is a busy man.
His days are spent as Music Program Director at Bert Church High School in Airdrie, AB, his nights as a gigging musician.
While often seen as a solo artist, Corbie also works in ensembles of his own and as an in-demand sideman.
Dorner studied jazz piano at Grant MacEwan College, then transferred to the renowned St. Francis Xavier University, completing his Bachelors in Music degree in Jazz Studies.
He spent some time in a country band before finding home in the blues world, working with saxophonist Mike Clark's band and backing guitar legends such as Amos Garrett.
From there he went on to become a member of Canadian blues giant Johnny V's band, touring across Canada and backing Chicago legends Sonny Rhodes and Zora Young.
Corbie, who recently released his debut, self-titled EP, received a nomination for the 2025 YYCMA's Blues Recording of the Year.
