Calgary’s Corbie Dorner is a familiar face on the local scene. The talented musician, songwriter and educator is known for his versatility, having mastered multiple instruments. He’s perhaps best known as a keyboard man and in fact captured the Keyboard Player of the Year Award from Calgary Bluesfest.
Corbie is a natural musician who has the innate ability to play and sing virtually any music he hears, a true gift. He’s worked with such leading musicians as Canadian blues giant Johnny V, participated in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis with Mike Clark Band, and performs solo or with his band.
Corbie has released an EP of originals and select covers, and has several originals ready for pressing for his new, upcoming album.
When not performing or writing, Corbie can be found in the classroom, inspiring young students to perform music as a band director, recently capturing a “Superior Rating” and some hardware from the Alberta Festival of Bands.
