Youth Blues Challenge

If you're 19 and under, share your outstanding musical talents during the intermission of Life, Death and The Blues!

"Blues Jam meets an evening of theatre - and a whole lot of toe-tapping tunes. This is the true life tale of a typical Canadian kid from a South Asian / Irish background, who just can't help lovin' the Blues. Actor and musician Raoul Bhaneja is joined on stage by Juno Award-winning R&B star Divine Brown, and some of the finest Blues musicians in Canada. Plus, every night, a different Calgary blues legend joins the show for a finale and a local youth blues musician selected in the Youth Blues Challenge will play during intermission.

Life, Death and The Blues is a special presentation to be shown at Alberta Theatre Projects from January 19th to January 31st. It was written and conceived by Raoul Bhaneja, directed by Eda Holmes and is part of One Yellow Rabbit's 30th Annual High Performance Rodeo. It was created as a Theatre Passe Muraille production in association with Hope and Hell Theatre Co.
