Megan Lane
Guitarmania Vlll, Calgary Bluesfest (2007)

"Megan is definitely a performer that defies classification. Her audiences become fans! "

Guitarist, songwriter and singer Megan Lane was born and raised in Saskatoon. She began writing and performing at the early age of 12 and hasn't looked back, playing in venues and festivals all over Canada ever since.

Megan's blues, jazz and soul sound combines her own unique style with the influences of Jimi Hendrix, Fiona Apple, Jonny Lang and Jeff Buckley. In 2004 she released her self-produced debut CD Purple and Blue, showcasing Meganís incredible diversity, passionate guitar playing, steamy vocals, and moving lyrics. The album was nominated by the Western Canadian Music Awards for 'Outstanding Blues Recording'. Her latest, Wrapped in Plastic, (2006) is an introspective blend characterized by Meganís stellar songwriting skills, paralleled only by her gut-wrenching guitar style.

Megan is currently on tour with Bass Player David "The Squid" Parker and drummer Jordan Trask.
