In 2004 Gary reunited with his uncle, the great Hubert Sumlin, to perform in a "Tribute to Howlin Wolf" at the Sasktel Jazz Festival, and has appeared off and on with the lengendary Motown "Funk Brothers" for 25 years. Over the last year, he has appeared with the Temptations, the Platters, Joe Hunter and Martha Reeves. Gary's 5 piece group the Heavenly Blues Band have been together for over 15 years, and features harmonica player Pete Johnson, Marvelous Marv on sax, James "Chip" Burney on bass, and drummer Dyllis Dufree, for some rockin' Alberta blues.
