Bassist Curtis Cripps, a.k.a “C.C. Cortez” hails from Hamilton, Ontario. He got his start playing with local greats such as the legendary King Biscuit Boy, Guitar Mikey, The Jitters, Tom Wilson, and Gordon Deppe.

After moving to Calgary, Curtis became the house bass player at the famed King Edward Hotel for many years, where he appeared as part of Bill Dowey & the Blues Devils. He also shared the stage with such names as Billy Branch, Cleveland Fats, Roy Gaines, Tim Williams, Trevor Finlay, Sherman Doucette, Jason Buie and countless others.

Curtis is currently touring with Sonny Rhodes and regularly performs with Johnny V.
