Brent Wright
Guitarmania Vlll (2007)

Born and raised in a musical family, Brent Wright was exposed to the world of music early in his life. As a youngster he wore his guitar like it was his favorite shirt, 24/7. Brent states,"My parents, brother, and two of my grandparents play the guitar. This is something I'm meant to do."

Brent has been a professional musician since he was 16 years old. He has performed with a diverse range of artists including Susan Jacks, Dr. Hook, Jerry Doucette, Long John Baldry, and Bobby Taylor, just to name a few. A veteran in the recording industry, Brent has sung and played guitar on many jingles, artist cd's, and has recorded his own material as well. Since arriving in Calgary from Vancouver, Brent has worked locally with award-winning bluesman Donald Ray Johnson, and has recorded and performed with producer/composer/pianist Ron Casat.

A highly versatile guitarist and singer, Brent's work is also recognized in the jazz community, where he has performed and recorded with the Brian Buchanan Ensemble, formed by pianist Buchanan, Mike Lent (bass), Sandro Dominelli (drums), Kent Sangster (saxophone), and Bob Tildesley (trumpet).
