With a career spanning more than four decades, Ron Casat, performer, composer, arranger and producer influenced the trajectory of many careers along with being a name synonymous with the best in Canadian music.

Over the years Ron' keyboard wizardry and voice have been heard as part of the Edmonton Folk Festival House Band, the Backline Orchestra, the Ian Tyson band, Amos Garrett's Eh Team, Tim William#39;s Electrofires, and with such greats as Big Dave McLean, James Keelaghan, Maria Muldaur, and Doug Cox, to name but a few.

Highly sought out for his studio skills, Ron has long list of recording credits including the Rembetika Hipsters (Producer), Kat Danser (Producer), Cold Club of Canada, Mike Clark, Coal Dust Grins (book & CD by author Lawrence Christmas), Sid Marty, Ralph Boyd Johnson, Donald Ray Johnson, Tom Phillips, Billy Cowsill, John Campbell, Doug Cox, Diamond Joe White and Mike Stack, among them.

In 2011 Ron released his long awaited debut CD of originals, the self-titled Ron Casat brilliantly performed and produced. It was a quiet release but is one that radio hosts and his fans cherish.

Ron Casat is to be commemorated in the National Music Centre's new home, Studio Bell, thanks to a $500,000 donation from the Sam and Betty Switzer Foundation. The centre's "Speak Up" gallery, commemorating the social impact of Canadian music, is to be dedicated in his memory.
