Kathi will guide aspiring vocalists through the two-part Singing the Blues Vocal Camp voice clinic on Monday, Feb. 23 and student's live performances with Tom Knowles & Friends on Tuesday, Feb. 24.

Singing the Blues Vocal Camp is open to those 16 & over.

Invite your fans, family & friends to watch you perform on Tuesday, Feb. 24. Tickets are $10 (children under 12 are free) and are available HERE

Kathi McDonald will also appear in concert on Wednesday, Feb 25th with the Tommy Knowles Band. Admission is free for this event that also includes the CBMA Blues Hall of Fame Awards Ceremony and the Midwinter Twilight Blues Jam.

EMERGING BLUES ARTIST'S WORKSHOP

This workshop is designed for blues musicians with experience. Wayne Logan, a former musician himself, knows firsthand the successes, pitfalls, and consequences of decisions artists make. Wayne brings to the workshop his extensive legal background in intellectual property and business law ... and the creativity that fuels an artist.

The Emerging Artists' Blues Workshop is presented by Calgary Blues Music Association, Cantos Music Foundation and The Friends of the King Eddy.

Note: Cantos and the Friends of the Eddy are presenting a special ALL-AGES BLUE MONDAY JAM at Cantos following the Emerging Blues Artists Workshop. Admission is free.

Local musician Bob Kohl is a familiar face on the blues scene in Calgary as a member of popular blues band the Johnson Brothers, as a frequent participant at local jams.

Bob has created a special workshop for beginner musicians who wish to, or currently participate in jam sessions at local clubs. Bob brings a new dimension to jamming, with instruction in song choice, performance skills, jamming etiquette and more. Bring your instruments and take part in a live jam session!

The workshop takes place at Mikey's Juke Joint and Eatery, with the workshop ending just before Mikey's famous Saturday afternoon jam. Stick around and try out your new skills!

18 & over, admission is free.
