Calgary guitarist Aaron Penton peels the layers of the blues onion with his fiery brand of blues, After hitting the road with Juno-winning Blues harmonica man Harpdog Brown, he caught the writing/recording bug and now spends his time writing and producing original material for Film and Television. His music has been used by UFC, Spike TV, TNA Wrestling and more.

Winner of the Calgary Blues Music Association's "Singing the Blues Competition," Curtis Glas makes his festival debut with the Aaron Penton Band.

Bill Dowey & the Blues Devils 2:30 PM

A powerful and heartfelt voice, a searing slide guitar tone, and a tour bus full of experience makes Bill Dowey one of the most convincing and dedicated blues artists in Canada. One of Calgary's most beloved blues bands, Bill Dowey & the Blues Devils are synonymous with the legendary King Eddy, where they spent many years as the house band.

Get a taste of the Calgary Bluesfest and enjoy your lunch while you listen to one of the hottest bands on the Calgary scene.

Guitarist, singer and songwriter Guy Chaput brings his Sci-fi Band band, with Dave Currie (guitar), Curtis Cripps (bass) and Duris Maxwell (drums), to Olympic Plaza mainstage during the lunch hour on Wednesday, August 22. Recently releasing their debut CD 'Awakenings', Guy Chaput & Sci-fi Band have been receiving airplay across the nation.

Sci-fi Band makes their festival debut on Thursday, August 23rd, sharing the bill with Edgar Winter and Rick Derringer.
